IEEE Kerala Section Awards 2025 – Call for Nominations

Nominations are requested from IEEE Kerala Section members to help the Awards and Recognition Committee 2025 identify the most deserving members of the community. Nominators are requested to identify personalities who have contributed significantly this year through leadership in activities, bringing in innovative projects/programs, encouraging and promoting IEEE, or in any way promoting the objectives of IEEE and the Section.

  • Kindly bear in mind the following norms in this regard:
  • Professional members of the IEEE Kerala Section are eligible to submit nominations for all awards.
  • Student members of the IEEE Kerala Section are eligible to submit nominations only for Student Awards. Student members should add the Name, Email ID and Membership Number of a professional member who can endorse the nominee.
  • The Nomination must be complete in all respects to be considered.
  • Self-nominations are not allowed for individual awards.
  • In the event of multiple nominations for the same nominee, it is the discretion of the Awards Committee to consider only one of the submissions.
  • The Awards Committee will make the final decision based on the nominations received.

IEEE Kerala Section & InApp - Amarnath Raja Humanitarian Technology Award

This award is to recognise an individual or team of engineers/scientists who have contributed in the areas of humanitarian engineering, which has resulted in significant improvements in the lives of the underprivileged in society. The award carries a cash prize of Rupees 75,000.00 plus a plaque/citation.

Chapter Awards

These awards recognise the outstanding performance of IEEE Kerala Section Society Chapters in promoting member engagement, technical activities, and leadership. Chapters are categorised by membership size, with separate awards for large and small chapters. Award winners will receive a plaque and a certificate.

  • IEEE Kerala Section – Outstanding Large Chapter (> 50 professional members)
  • IEEE Kerala Section – Outstanding Small Chapter (< 50 professional members)

Outstanding Researcher Awards: Society Chapters

Researchers are recognised for their outstanding performance by their respective IEEE Kerala Section Society Chapters, with separate awards for different society chapters. Award winners will receive a plaque and a certificate.

  • IEEE Kerala Section – Outstanding Researcher of the Society Chapter (for each IEEE Kerala Section Society Chapter)

Volunteer Awards (Professional)

These awards honour the contributions of IEEE Kerala Section volunteers who have demonstrated exceptional leadership and service. Various categories highlight contributions from professionals, young professionals, Women in Engineering, Humanitarian activities, and Life Members. Award winners will receive a plaque and a certificate.

  • IEEE Kerala Section – Outstanding Volunteer – Young Professional
  • IEEE Kerala Section – Outstanding Volunteer – Women in Engineering
  • IEEE Kerala Section – Outstanding Volunteer – Humanitarian Activities
  • IEEE Kerala Section – Outstanding Volunteer – Life Member

Student Awards

These awards acknowledge the efforts and achievements of students, student branches, and student branch counselors within the IEEE Kerala Section. They aim to encourage excellence in leadership, professional development, and humanitarian efforts among students. Award winners will receive a plaque and a certificate.

  • IEEE Kerala Section – Outstanding Student Volunteer
  • IEEE Kerala Section – Outstanding Student Volunteer – Women in Engineering

Event Awards

These awards recognise excellence in event planning, execution, and impact within the IEEE Kerala Section. Separate awards are given for student-organised and professional-organised events demonstrating outstanding contributions to the IEEE community. Award winners will receive a plaque and a certificate.

Technical Awards

These awards are presented to individuals making significant contributions to research, education or industry within the IEEE Kerala Section. They recognise achievements in advancing knowledge, innovation, and technological development. Award winners will receive a plaque and a certificate.
