The field of interest of the AP-S encompasses: antennas, including analysis, design, development, measurement, and testing; radiation, propagation, and the interaction of electromagnetic waves with discrete and continuous media; and applications and systems pertinent to antennas, propagation, and sensing, such as applied optics, millimeter- and sub-millimeter-wave techniques, antenna signal processing and control, radio astronomy, and propagation and radiation aspects of terrestrial and space-based communication, including wireless, mobile, satellite, and telecommunications.

The IEEE Circuits and Systems Society is the leading organization that promotes the advancement of the theory, analysis, design, tools, and implementation of circuits and systems. The field spans their theoretical foundations, applications, and architectures, as well as circuits and systems implementation of algorithms for signal and information processing.

The IEEE Computer Society is the world’s leading membership organization dedicated to computer science and technology. Serving more than 60,000 members, the IEEE Computer Society is the trusted information, networking, and career-development source for a global community of technology leaders that includes researchers, educators, software engineers, IT professionals, employers, and students. The IEEE Computer Society Kerala Chapter has 145 professional members and 2051 student members. Winner of IEEE CS(Global) Outstanding Chapter Award ‘2018 and Early Career Professionals Engagement in Outstanding Chapter Award Program 2022.

The IEEE Communications Society (ComSoc) promotes the advancement of science, technology, and applications in communications and related disciplines. It fosters presentation and exchange of information among its members and the technical community throughout the world. The Society maintains a high standard of professionalism and technical competency. The IEEE Communications Society is a professional society of the IEEE.

The IEEE Education Society is a society of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers that is focused on the theory and practice of education and educational technology needed to deliver effectively domain knowledge in the fields of interest of IEEE.

IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society (EMBS) is the world’s largest international society of biomedical engineers. The organization’s 10,000 members reside in some 97 countries around the world. EMBS provides its members with access to the people, practices, information, ideas, and opinions that are shaping one of the fastest-growing fields in science.

The Geoscience and Remote Sensing Society (GRSS) is a community of researchers and practitioners collaborating and designing tools to understand our interaction with Earth’s ecosystems, to monitor its environments, oceans and ice caps, and to characterize potential risks. GRSS supports a network of collaborations at a global level.

IA/IE/PELS Jt. Chapter, the only Joint chapter in IEEE Kerala Section is now one of the most vibrant and active Society chapters. Industry Applications Society (IAS), Industrial Electronics Society (IES) and Power Electronics Society (PELS) are the constituent of the joint chapter.

The Industry Applications Society, as a transnational organization, is interested in advancement of the theory and practice of electrical and electronic engineering in the development, design, manufacture and application of electrical systems, apparatus, devices and controls to the processes and equipment of industry and commerce; promotion of safe, reliable and economic installations; industry leadership in energy conservation and environmental, health, and safety issues; creation of voluntary engineering standards and recommended practices; and the professional development of its membership.

The Industrial Electronics Society through its members encompasses a diverse range of technical activities devoted to the application of electronics and electrical sciences for the enhancement of industrial and manufacturing processes. These technical activities address the latest developments in intelligent and computer control systems, robotics, factory communications and automation, flexible manufacturing, data acquisition and signal processing, vision systems, and power electronics. The Society continually updates its program of technical activities to meet the needs of modern industry.

The Power Electronics Society is one of the fastest growing technical societies of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE). For over 20 years, PELS has facilitated and guided the development and innovation in power electronics technology. This technology encompasses the effective use of electronic components, the application of circuit theory and design techniques, and the development of analytical tools toward efficient conversion, control and condition of electric power. Our members include preeminent researchers, practitioners, and distinguished award winners.

The Microwave Theory and Technology Society (MTT-S) Kerala Chapter is a local chapter of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) focused on microwave theory, techniques, and applications. The chapter is dedicated to advancing the theory and practice of microwave technology, promoting education, and fostering collaboration among professionals in the field.

IEEE PES Kerala Chapter was founded in the year 1999. Our mission is to be the leading provider of scientific and engineering information on electric power and energy for the betterment of society, and the preferred professional development source for our members. The scope of the Society embraces research, development, planning, design, construction, maintenance, installation and operation of equipment, structures, materials and power systems for the safe, sustainable, economic and reliable conversion, generation, transmission, distribution, storage and usage of electric energy, including its measurement and control.

The IEEE Photonics Society forms the hub of a vibrant technical community of more than 100,000 professionals dedicated to transforming breakthroughs in quantum physics into the devices, systems and products to revolutionize our daily lives.

The IEEE Robotics and Automation Society’s objectives are scientific, literary and educational in character. The Society strives for the advancement of the theory and practice of robotics and automation engineering and science and of the allied arts and sciences.

The Council on RFID field of interest (FOI) is the theory and practice of matters relating to RFID (radio frequency identification) and RFID-related systems.

The IEEE Signal Processing Society, world’s premier professional society and IEEE’s first ever society, started its kerala chapter in the year 2014, with an initial member count of 20. Within a short span of time the chapter member count grew to more than 824 including 118 Professional Members, 33 Graduate members and 673+ student members over 27 local chapter across Kerala Section. The chapter maintains a high standard of professionalism and technical competency so as to incubates the exchange of information among the community, thus focusing on the innovations shaping the future of signal processing and the future of our world.

The IEEE Solid-State Circuits Society’s vision is to foster innovation and excellence in solid-state circuits for the benefit of humanity. It aims serve its members through education, communication, recognition, leadership opportunities, and networking.

The Society on Social Implications of Technology (SSIT) is concerned with how technology impacts the world, and with how the application of technology can improve the world. The Society focuses on issues such as: humanitarian engineering; environmental issues including climate change, green technologies, and sustainable design; privacy and security; other economic, health, and safety implications of technology; engineering ethics and professional responsibility; engineering education including k-12 and engineering education in social implications of technology; history of technology; public policy related to engineering, technology and science; health and healthcare technologies and impact; reliable energy and social issues related to energy, and social issues of information technology and telecommunications.

The IEEE Vehicular Technology Society is an applications-oriented society of IEEE, with technical activities concentrated around three pillars: Wireless Communications, Land Transportation, and Motor Vehicles. VTS activities are carried out by volunteers, including reviewers, editors, conference organizers, standards committee participants, and local chapter volunteers.
